Terms and Definitions

GCP - The Green Choice Program


NSPI - Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) is the provincial utility


PA - The Procurement Administrator (PA) will administer the procurement of new renewable resources for the GCP. Learn about the PA here


Participant -   A participant is a large corporate energy user or government institution who is interested in subscribing their electricity consumption to the GCP.


PPA - Selected Proponents sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) during the Target Agreement Execution Period.


Proponent -   A proponent is an independent power producer who is interested in bidding into the GCP RFP.


RFP -  The PA will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to build renewable energy projects to meet the needs of enrolled applicants.  Proponents prepare and submit proposals for evaluation. This will be similar to the Rate Base Procurement bid submission process
